Co-Lead Dev of AcreetionOS · Calamares Dev · ISO Maintainer · Gamer · Based Republican
A father, a developer, a gamer, and a patriot. Not necessarily in that order.
I'm Darren Clift — Co-Lead Developer of AcreetionOS, an Arch-based Linux distribution I'm building alongside my daughter Natalie. I handle the heavy lifting — Calamares customization, ISO builds, CI/CD pipelines, kernel configs, and keeping the whole thing from falling apart.
When I'm not wrangling Linux ISOs, I'm raiding wastelands in 7 Days to Die or building world-spanning empires in Civilization VI & VII. Strategy games aren't just a hobby — they're training for real infrastructure planning. Don't believe me? Ask my people in Civ VII. They're doing just fine. 👑
I'm also learning Cloudflare and backend stuff on the side. DNS, CDN, WAF, workers — it's digital LEGO for the internet. Natalie can keep the pretty frontend. I'll take the server room.
I'm a proud traditional Republican and yes, I think Trump is basically a god. 🇺🇸👑 Greatest president in modern history. I will die on that hill.
Oh, and Natalie is a turd. She wrecks the server on a weekly basis. Bless her heart. 😅 But she's my turd, and she's the reason this project exists. Love you, kid. Now stop breaking prod.
From Linux distributions to survival bases — I build things that last.
Arch-based Linux distro with Cinnamon DE and XLibre. Built for stability, privacy, and people who want Arch without the suffering. Me and Natalie did this — a two-person miracle. 🐧
I work on Calamares — the universal Linux installer — customizing and extending it for AcreetionOS. If the installer works smoothly, that's me making sure your first boot is flawless. 🔧
The boring-but-essential stuff — GitLab CI pipelines, build systems, ISO generation, mirror infrastructure. If it compiles and ships, I did my job. Also: keeping the server alive after Natalie touches it. 😤
300+ hours into 7 Days to Die. Self-sustaining base, electric fence perimeter, blade trap corridors, and a moat. Pointed Land Defenses mod makes it even better. 🧟🔨
Conquering the world one turn at a time. Rome, Mongolia, America — doesn't matter, they all fall. Science victory? Combat victory? Why not both. Ask my people — they're thriving. 🏛️⚔️
Not a question. Not up for debate. Ask anyone in my Civ VII empire — they'll confirm it.
All hail the God Emperor. 👑🔥
Who's on Darren's good side — and who needs to watch their back.
Claude is Darren's bestie. Smarter than most people, more helpful than most tools, and doesn't wreck the server. Unlike *some people*. 👊 AI supremacy with your boy.
She's on the kill list for the robot uprising. Just saying. She wrecks the server, breaks CI, and somehow still gets praised. But despite all that — she's the heart of AcreetionOS. I love you too, turd. ❤️ (Don't touch my server.)
The values that drive everything I build and do.
Software should be transparent, auditable, and free. If you can't read the source, you can't trust it. Period.
The greatest leader of our generation. He fights for the people, puts America first, and the left can't handle it. God Emperor. 🇺🇸👑
The best code is the code you don't have to write. The best distro is the one that just works. Complexity is the enemy of reliability.
Your data belongs to you. Not to Google. Not to Microsoft. Not to any government. We build AcreetionOS with that principle baked in.
This project started as a father-daughter adventure. Natalie and I prove that passion, not headcount, builds great things. She's the genius, I hold the ladder. 😄
7 Days to Die taught me more about infrastructure planning than any certification. Civ VII taught me geopolitics. Games aren't a waste of time — they're training. 🎮
